Good Health and Triathlon Training or How to Comeback from a Heart Attack

I was 58 years old and have done Sprint Tri's from 2000. I have been doing cross/ triathlon training workouts for years. On April 6th 2009 I woke up did errands and light yard work and as the day progressed, I felt sluggish and out of sync just not right,  but still nothing to make me think something was going to happen. By 9:40 that night, I told my wife lets go to the ER because I still feel like crap. To make a story shorter at 12:25 that night the surprised happened, I had a heart attack a clogged right artery. The Doctor inserted a Stent and I was sent home 36 hours later. Except for my weight I was in good cardio shape. I was  6'3" and 265 lbs and two years later 205 lbs. I went back in the gym three months later and worked back to be able to resume my cross/tri training. Last August I did my 1st sprint tri since the heart attack and was 18 minutes faster. This year I hope to do my 1st Olympic Triathlon, but the cardiologist must give me this blessings in two weeks. Listen to your body. Nutrition and health + fitness workouts = a better person both physically and mentally. Oh, I am now 60 years old and yes the body creaks a little more every morning. As Tony the Tiger would say "I Feel Great."

That's just a great great Carl.

Actually, I never would've thought you were 60.

Keep it up.
