Bucks county marathon 3:41
The plan was to be conservative for the first 20 miles by running 8:15 minimiles then try to pick up the last 10k and hopefully break 3:30 in my dreams I'd break 3:20. Well my legs had their own plans - go for broke. I blame the ACDC being played as we waited in corrals really got me feeling badass. First mile 7:07, mile 6 43:30, 13.1 miles 1:39.at that point my legs looked up to me and said 'screw u jack I'm outta here!' I hit the wall at around mile 16 BAD actually spent most of that mile saying the Lords prayer to myself cause I couldn't focus on anything else. I was in a very dark place when I saw my family and that saved me around mile 17. The next 9 miles my mantra was 'Thomas wants you to finish and Siri wants you to finish FASTER!' my pace slowed to 10minmiles but was able to salvage a 3:40 marathon with no breakdowns and go to finish with my kids. highpoint was crossing the finish line w/ my kids if I wasn't so dehydrated I would have cried like a baby. lowpoint was hearing a spectator say 'He REALLY doesn't look good' I was close to going back and punching her in the face but went w/ the sarcastic 'thanks a lot!' I hope I hurt her feelings
two days later and my legs are in decent shape (Regen works)
