long grey weekend down the sore

took off after a huge breakfast and right after the rain let up so I had the beach to myself. it was great! my big toe and left ITB did not agree but that's tough. last 4 blocks I pushed hard intoa very uncomfrortable zone just to remember how to suck it up. then had a great outdoor shower.

Black Bear Olympic 23May2010

Today life is teaching me some lessons, but we'll get to that in a bit.

Pre-race:

Doug is a champion trooper and I love that he is with me during these events, especially because of the crazy wake-up times, like this morning when we got up at 4:15 a.m. Two cups of blessed coffee which tasted and felt so good because I've been (mostly) off of caffeine for the last 5 months and I'm saving those caffeine splurges for race days. Long weekend

5/14 woke up at 5am drove to the philly art museum and set up my bike. did one loop of the art museum (around 8miles) by myself looking painting markings for the philly tri - no luck. got back around 6:45 and meet up with a couple strangers I met over the 'net. we did some exploring and eventually figured out most of the philly olympic course. pace was pretty easy but no complaints had a lot of…
