Aaaah,

To be tackling ones first marathon.   How very exciting.

As many MS KarmaStriders and others ready for their first 26.2,  the anxious questions are swarming.

Please chime in w/ your simple tid bits of advice and help take the edge off.

The 1 saying that kept me moving through first marathon:

'Pain is temporary,

Pride is forever.'

- Hydrate leading up to raceday.  (just b/c it's not HOT out, you're still sweating)

- Nothing NEW.  Don't change your diet or gear or sleeping pattern. ANYTHING.

- Have a nutritional plan. (both leading up to, as well as raceday.)

- Rest your legs. Have them hungry for raceday.

- Enjoy every minute of it.

- Ready for the pendulim.

(I believe the distance is 75% mental. We are asking our mind and bodies to perform a very unnatural act.  Your body and or mind WILL want to stop at some point.   Hunker down, relax and keep turning those tooties over.  THIS WILL PASS.)

- Remember,  you've trained, done all the work and sacraficed. This is your reward. Let it happen.
