RIGHT YOUR MIND : How DO YOU ? How one athlete preps her mind for Kona Half Iron.

I did three things today to get ready for Kona:

1.  With the help of a good friend, disassembled my bike and packed her in a THOUSAND PIECES into a bike case. I'm a little freaked that she'll never be the same or feel right again, but it had to be done. Poor Lucille.

2.  Wrote down on post-it notes all the rotten, degrading, negative, uninspiring mean things I say to myself when the going gets tough and hard and painful - 26 statements in all - then took them to work and shredded them in the paper shredder. I know it's probably a cheesy, psycho-stupid thing to do but it was actually kinda liberating. I am not those statements. I am not that person.

3.  Re-read your inspirational e-mail to me from a few days ago.

Give me one more week and I will be ready. And able.

Warm wishes and positive thoughts your way!
